Boyer Auto Group Gives Back to ABSC Students
Boyer Auto Group is building on its long relationship with Georgian College by introducing a new student award at the Automotive Business School of Canada (ABSC). A $56,000 donation, made through the Boyer Family Charitable Fund, will create a permanent endowment to support student financial aid.
The Boyer Auto Group Award will be presented each year to a full-time student entering the second year of a diploma or degree program at the ABSC. This initiative reflects the Boyer family’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities where they live and work.
A Meaningful Connection to Georgian
Brandon Boyer, a graduate of the 2004 Business Administration Automotive Marketing program at Georgian, returned to ABSC to help launch the award. Now Dealer Principal at Boyer Auto Group, he spoke on behalf of the company and his family.
“Our contribution to Georgian will help deserving ABSC students in need,” Boyer said.
Since opening its first dealership in 1981, Boyer Auto Group has grown to 14 dealerships representing 16 brands and six collision centres. The company maintains a close relationship with Georgian College. All Boyer general managers are expected to complete the Automotive Dealership Management program at the ABSC.
Recognizing Student Achievement
The first recipient of the award, Sukhmanveer Kaur, expressed gratitude for the support.
“Receiving the Boyer Auto Group Award has not only alleviated some of the financial burden associated with pursuing my ABSC education but has also served as a tremendous source of motivation and encouragement for me. This award represents more than just financial assistance; it symbolizes the belief that individuals like you hold in the potential of students striving for excellence.Your generosity has inspired me to work even harder to achieve my academic and career goals, and I am truly honoured to be recognized as the first recipient. I hope to one day positively impact someone’s life as you have impacted mine.”
David Bell, Associate Vice President, Advancement and Alumni Relations, shared his thanks for the donation.
Jason Dale, Executive Director of the ABSC, and Kevin Weaver, President and CEO of Georgian College, joined Bell in accepting the donation from Brandon Boyer and Percy Collas, Chief Operating Officer of Boyer Auto Group.
This partnership helps ensure that future ABSC students will continue to have access to valuable financial support and guidance from experienced professionals in the automotive industry.
